Dita In Nylon and Rope Marks Helps Me Announce a Small Change

I mentioned recently that for the next few months, I will be going lighter on the text and heavier on the photography here at Stocking Vixen, because of work I'm doing on another nylon project (which I hope you guys will love). The poll I took at the time showed overwhelming support for the idea of lots more photos, with about half of you admitting that you mostly come here for the pretty ladies in the first place. The other half of you were supportive of me posting more photos short-term as long as I got back to regular Stocking Vixenry when I was free again.

So, for now, look for far more frequent posts, fewer words, and lots of gorgeous, intriguing, artistic and stimulating photos of lingerie and hosiery. I've got Dita tied up and ready to pose for us. Black Stockings with Red Fingernails

Here's a great photo of two of the things that make me feel sexiest: a pair of stockings and deliciously red fingernails. I was having a conversation with a friend the other day about how it's the tiny details that can really add that last bit of sexiness and I'm just picturing how much less interesting this photo would be without the red nails, or the garter straps against her pale skin, or the pearls draped between her breasts. Those are the things that make this photo sing to me, and those are the things I believe would catch her lover's eye, too.

This image is so beautiful it actually made me gasp when I first saw it on one of my new favorite Tumblr blogs, Negrita Bonita. It comes originally from Maverick Photography and there are just some gorgeous photos worth perusing over at that site, period.

Speechless Over Socks?

Seams in Front?

I've had backseams on the brain lately, but it never would have occured to me to wear them with the seams at the front of the leg! It's pure genius, I tell you. These look very much like my fave Nordstrom's house brand of pantyhose/thigh highs where the "backseam" is woven into the nylon and it could definitely pass for a stripe rather than a seam.

Am I brave enough to try it and risk well-meaning strangers saying, "Lady, you've got those on backward?" Hmmm, not so sure. In theory, however this is a very cool idea.

I realize this very well may be a pair with a stripe up front and a stripe down the back, but they look SO much like the Nordie's hose, I can't help but wonder.

Edited to add: My dear blogging pal, Treacle who writes the über-awesome Stockings Addict and who has forgotten more about hosiery than I will ever know, pointed out in the comments area, the Wolford Palomas, which are a front-seamed style and are, indeed, what I think the model above is wearing. White Fishnet Stockings?

Any regular reader of this blog knows I love fishnets in any form, be it stockings, pantyhose, or socks and lately I've even taken to looking at photos of fishnet gloves and getting a funny feeling inside. I have exactly zero idea how they would have anything to do with anything else I'm prone to wearing currently, but I still like looking at them more than I really should.

Recently while making my Tumblr blog (which is mildly not-safe-for-work) I ran across these two pairs of white stockings, which are very similar in design to each other, somewhat weblike, somewhat netted and definitely evoke my favorite "f" word (no, not that one). I'm not really what to call them. Does anyone know the official name for this type of netting? I love the combination of delicacy and texture. Would this be considered a variant on white fishnet stockings?

Wow, where to start with this photo of Dahlia in her Rago Lacette Girdle? Perhaps with the pile of bodies accumulating over there as people pass out in sheer astonishment at her sexiness? Perhaps with the mystery of what may or may not cover her lady parts under her girdle? I love the nod to Bettie Page, but Dahlia keeps the energy her own and her thighs are a lethal weapon.

Today is my dear friend stockingmonster's birthday and I doubt there's anyone on earth who would appreciate this photo more than him, so I dedicate this post to you, SM and wish you the happiest of happy days. Dahlia Delis: Stiletto in Hand

This is a special favorite of the images Dahlia gave me to share. She has lots of great black and whites on her personal site, but I love thinking about the soft tickle of the feathers, compared to the firm authority of the heel in her hand. I enjoy tremendously, wrapping my fingers around my stiletto and pulling my leg back while I'm wearing it. It's a wonderful feeling, like many things, I don't know why, I just know I enjoy it.

Pinup Girl Dahlia Delis in Sexy Gloves and Girdle

This is a smaller photo, but is has very big, sexy energy. I love the lacy gloves with the retro-girdle. This is very similar to the Rago garter girdle I test drove yesterday and I hadn't thought of trying my white lace gloves with it. Maybe this is why I'm me and Dahlia is the professional pinup.

Pinups use Twitter, too; in fact, as a group, they are fairly tweet-happy, and I suspect as my readers become more aware of the site as a tool to connect with beautiful women in nylon, more of them may consider joining. Last week, a few amusing messages from LA pinup model Dahlia Delis caught my eye and lead me to investigate her personal website (which is for grown ups and not safe for work unless you work somewhere super-awesome).

She's funny, she's beautiful and she looks stunningly sexy in stockings and vintage lingerie. It seemed like a no-brainer to write to her and ask if she would share some photos with the readers of Stocking Vixen and she has very generously given some to post here, the first of which appears above. I love the feathers in this one, in particular, and the way the black of her hair plays with the black of her stocking tops and shoes. This is a first for Stocking Vixen in that I don't generally post any nudity on this site, but this is a highly tasteful, beautiful photograph and I couldn't resist.

One advantage to having your own blog is that you can declare your own random holidays, so I declare today Dahlia Delis Day and will be posting photos of Dahlia throughout the day from the selection she gave me. Please do stop by her website. She has photos of a far more grown-up nature than I am able to post here and fans of the damsel-in-distress and smoking fetishes will find much to admire.

Turquoise Stockings on the Wall...

I try not to do too many, "just because it's pretty," posts here at Stocking Vixen and reserve them for Stocking Vixenette, but I just couldn't resist sharing this photograph by ambiv on deviantART. I love the way the pattern on the stockings coordinates with the wallpaper. Magic!

Tuxedo Lingerie

For my friend, Saragirl, who is on a tuxedo kick at the moment, tuxedo lingerie from Dollhouse Bettie. I also love these stockings paired with this set. There's something very nice about the stripes and lace with the gender-bending of the boy-details on the girl undies.

Spick Magazine Complete Issue, June 1967, No 163

Spick Magazine was one of the most successful British pin up magazine of the 60's, and a few weeks ago, a very sweet Stocking Vixen reader, Gerard in the Netherlands gave us some scans he had made from his collection so we could all enjoy some of the photos in his collection. He has since gone even further in his generosity and taken the time to scan the entire June, 1967 issue of Spick and provide it to me. It is so incredibly delightful I had to find a way to share it all with you, so have embedded it as a pdf/flash movie above. It won't work in some mobile browsers, which is why I've also included the two photos above, but the entire magazine is available for reading for anyone who clicks on the third image or on this link.

I have really been enjoying reading this magazine and having a chance to view the perspective of leg-lovers in the late 60's. I suspect most people reading it will find something to enjoy, whether vintage clothing lovers, or students of the leg. There's a great letter on page 20 from J. McCartney in Toronto who says, in part, "I am beginning to like very much the features you run on the mini-skirted girls of your country. I think they confirm all that we read and hear about the swinging scene over there and I only wish I could have a five-year holiday and spend it all with you." It stands in charming contrast to what many count as titillating today.
